“An impressive set from Reading band Amy's Ghost...."
-The Independent.
"To place Amy's Ghost in a box or genre is comparable to deciphering Lady Gaga's much-disputed gender, impossible. To speak in contemporary terms, throw in a dollop of
P J Harvey into a pot, a dash of Kate Bush's melodies, boil in some of Lady Gaga's attitude and imagination with a sprinkling of Florence and The Machine's quirkiness and you may just create yourself an Amy's Ghost. Enough to make your mouth water? It should be.”
- Glasswerk
“Whether with brooding electronica rumbling away into your subconscious as Portishead are known to do, or complimenting strings that give the music a more whimsical air, invoking reminders of epic storytellers The Decemberists. It's in this that the band get their signature sound and what separates them from their immediate contemporaries.”
- God is in the tv
"Amy Barton's music turns heads. Her enigmatic personality inflicted with theatrical ambitiousness and diversity makes her more interesting than the usual crap that turns up on a Monday morning"
- Nightshift
“stunning performance, Amys Ghost are the most original and exciting band we have presented thus far……spellbinding music with a theatrical touch.”
-Tantrika Arts –Bath.
Amy’s Ghost are far and away one of the most exciting, original and vital prospects to have appeared on the Berkshire scene in recent years….totally transfixing and utterly gorgeous, catch while you can..
-The Fire Station - Windsor
Sartre's Flower, our second Album is well under way, so we've paused gigging for a while and have enlisted the help of the Drumming God that is Lee Alloway to help with it. He's been thrashing through the new tracks like a super Hero. We are so excited about these new tunes! We have 15 in total...and hope to whittle it down to 10...gonna be tough! Thoms gone mad on the string sections this time and we've been creating choirs from layering vocal takes....the final tracks are starting to sound LUSH! We've also enlisted a little help from the lovely Tom Wolfe....a producer to watch out for.
